A helping hand
Our sheltered housing officers (wardens) recognise and respect your privacy, but if you have any problems, they are there to help you.They are on site during the day but if you need someone at any other time we will get there as soon as we can 24 hours a day. Just use the intercom system or pull-cord to notify our control room. We place great value on providing support and will make sure someone is available even when your sheltered housing officer is away.
How we can help
You decide how much support you want from the sheltered housing officer. There are lots of ways they can help, such as;
- Seeing you quickly if there is an emergency
- Making sure you get the right help and support
- Calling regularly to see how you are and what you need
- Finding people to help if there is a problem
- Arranging to your home

Who lives in retirement homes and why do they choose them?
Almost all our tenants are people aged 60 and above. Some want the security of having someone on-hand if needed. Some are vulnerable, perhaps because of illness or bereavement. A few tenants are a little younger than retirement age and live here because they need the support our housing officers can give. If you would like more information on our facilities, please either
