What happens if I don’t pay my rent?

Failure to pay your rent is a serious breach of your tenancy agreement and could result in you losing your home.

If you fail to make an agreement to clear your arrears then the first step is to serve you with a Notice Seeking Possession. If your arrears are not cleared or substantially reduced before the Notice Seeking Possession expires (28 days after the date of service) then an application will be made to Court. At a Court hearing we will ask the judge for Possession Order to take back your home. If you make regular payments to reduce your arrears then we will ask for a Suspended Possession Order. You will also incur additional Court costs as a result of any Court action. Failure to maintain the terms of a Possession order will result in an application to Court for a Warrant of Eviction.

It is important that you pay your rent on time so if you are having difficulties paying you must contact us straight away.
